Nurse Practitioner Elise Clark has trained and worked under Dr. Scott and follows the same tenets and protocols as Dr. Scott. Practicing in Family Medicine provided Elise with a wide knowledge base and experience, allowing her to look at patients as a whole and treat the patient, and not necessarily just the symptom.

However, it was there that she began to see that the traditional medical model and the “one size fits all” approach were not always the most helpful to patients. It seemed to her that it had become more about how many patients could be seen rather than about treating each patient individually, and Elise simply could not conform to this.

Elise’s background in treating women for hormonal imbalances spurred her passion to continue her education in this area because she was able to see what a positive impact it made on her patients’ lives. When she transitioned into an endocrinology practice to hone this focus, she was able to glean even more understanding and experience in hormone replacement therapy and thyroid disorders. She began to search for a practice that would allow her to provide the kind of care, attention, and cutting-edge medical research needed to truly help each patient that she worked with. With this in mind, she found Dr. Scott.

Elise looks at the whole patient picture. She enjoys educating patients and helping them to make needed lifestyle changes, overseeing successful weight loss programs, correct hormone balancing for both men and women, and providing overall health and nutrition education. She listens to her patients and gains a full understanding of what they have been experiencing. With this understanding and the correct use of diagnostic tools and labs, Elise works to find the underlying causes of her patient’s conditions and address these to achieve long-term wellness and vitality for each of her patients.

Physician Assistant Kam Neal has loved medicine her entire life. She grew up in Colorado, and as a child, she remembers being fascinated with investigating how things worked. Kam attended Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma, where she received a bachelor of science in biology—following that, she earned a master’s degree in health services from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center upon completing the physician associate program. She is a certified Physician Assistant and licensed by the Texas Medical Board.

In the traditional medical model, Kam felt frustrated working in a high-volume practice with barely enough time to refill medications and then not seeing her patients feel any better over time. In addition, her own experience with hormone imbalances after having children and being told ‘everything is normal’ fueled those feelings more, leading her to functional medicine and an optimal wellness model of medicine.

Kam’s desire to treat the whole patient and not just the symptoms, along with her passion for teaching, is evident as she loves working with each patient to find the root cause of their illness while teaching them about their health, so they feel informed and empowered.

Nurse Practitioner Kimberley Maus is a nationally certified Adult Nurse Practitioner. She is an accomplished provider with expertise in Endocrinology, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, Thyroid Management, Weight Management, Bariatrics, Gastroenterology, and Preventative Medicine. Kimberly has a strong desire to focus on preventative care and health education.  She is a former certified personal trainer, marathoner, and brown belt in Tae Kwon Do. Kimberley has formal training in psychology and alternative medicine/acupressure and received her master’s degree from the University of San Diego. She is committed to the philosophies of preventative medicine and treating the patient as a whole.

“When you look beyond symptoms and disease,” she says, “and take time to truly understand the history in which they were born, you are able to treat the root of the problem, minimize (if not eliminate) symptoms, and enable the patient to head off a multitude of potential complications.”

Nurse Practitioner Debra Bluestein works with both women and men using Bioidentical Hormones. Debra is passionate about helping people feel their best, achieve optimal health, and prevent illness and disease. She believes in using a very individualized approach to achieve optimal hormone balance for each patient as well as helping patients with chronic medical issues. She listens very closely to her patients and involves them in decision-making regarding the plan for their bodies and health. Debra collaborates with the practice in planning out a comprehensive program for clients.

She has been a Nurse Practitioner since 1998 and has had opportunities for extensive study and training in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy and optimization. She uses a functional medicine approach to anti-aging, using hormones, diet, exercise, nutraceuticals, and supplements. Debra worked in Family Practice during the early part of her career and has been working with Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy since 2011.
