Dear patients and potential new patients,
In light of the rapid and ongoing announcements being made by our nation’s government, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and our local and state municipalities regarding the coronavirus pandemic, known as COVID-19, we would like to communicate with you some temporary changes we are implementing for our practice effective immediately.
As always, our most important concern is the personal health and well-being of our patients and staff. At the same time, our goal is to implement these temporary changes that fall in line with the latest guidelines and recommendations for “social distancing” while still maintaining continuity of care for our patients in their respective treatment plans.
Practice Updates – effectively immediately until further notice:
We Are Offering In-Person Appointments Again With Updated COVID-19 Protocols!
We are excited to announce that we will reopen our (freshly-sanitized) doors to in-person patient appointments beginning June 1, 2020! For those of you that aren’t ready to come back to the office yet, we will still support you virtually. In fact, we love the flexibility that telemedicine offers us and some of our patients that live further away, so we will continue to offer virtual appointments indefinitely. To help you determine if an in-office visit is right for you, here are some things being done to keep you safe. At Baylor Las Colinas, every single person (patient or employee) must:
- Enter and exit the hospital exclusively tghrouggh one set of doors at the east entrance.
- Have their temperature taken.
- Answer COVID-19 screening questions.
- Wear a facial mask.
- Practice proper social distancing.
Also, at the offices of Leigh Ann Scott, M.D., we are taking these steps to ensure your health and safety:
- A full top to bottom sanitization of the entire office.
- Limiting our lobby to no more than 2 patients at any given time.
- Wiping down surfaces in our lobby, restrooms, and in our provider offices after each patient.
- Implementation of a “touchless” checkout process.

To further support the CDC’s recommendation for social distancing, we will be offering private appointments with a phlebotomist here in our office, so that your lab work is done on time for your appointment. As an alternative, a mobile phlebotomist can be scheduled to come to your home. Of course, lab orders can still be taken to the outside lab of your choice (such as Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp) if that is your preference or is more convenient to where you live or work.
As always, we are able to ship supplements to your home for a nominal fee. We are monitoring our stock levels on a daily basis and are ordering as needed to continue to meet the demand of our patients.
